In order to find innovative ways to overcome challenges due to pandemic, Innovation Hackathon would be the best coding challenge. Compounded with a struggling economy, the spread of COVID-19 has hit many social enterprises and their target groups/beneficiaries in Turkey especially hard. Thus we know that innovating and delivering products/services online is a key strategy for social enterprises and their beneficiaries. The Hackathon would shed light on the needs of refugees or host communities, building feasible digital solutions through social enterprises. Designers, developers, and social entrepreneurs will come together in Innovation Hackathon, which will be held on 25-27 September. This will be a 48-hour coding challenge to develop tech-based solutions that drive social impact. The aim is to tackle real issues faced by 6 social entrepreneurs in Turkey since the start of the current pandemic. Winners will get a money award, as well as a chance to implement their solutions to real life business strategies with the support of Impact Hub Istanbul.
